The Prevalence of Adverse Childhood Experiences

Child Trends recently updated the brief, The Prevalence of Adverse Childhood Experiences, Nationally, by State, and by Race or Ethnicity, which uses data from the 2016 National Survey of Children’s Health to describe the prevalence of one or more adverse childhood experiences among children from birth through age 17. Advocates can use this resource to better understand, address, and share information about the issues facing children in their states and communities.
