One Voice for Volusia
The Star Shelter
Healthy Start funds services, under a Volusia County Bridging the Gap Grant, for pregnant and parenting families at The Star Shelter. The goal of the Bridging the Gap program is to remove barriers to self sufficiency by helping families find child care, employment and housing, so that they can eventually move out of the shelter and maitain a stable home and stable employment.
Stewart- Marchman-ACT Behavioral Healthcare
Healthy Start partners with Stewart-Marchman-ACT Behavioral Healthcare in its Project WARM Program, (Women Assisting Recovering Mothers) which is a long-term residential program for women who are pregnant, postpartum, or parenting young children, and who are recovering from substance abuse.
