World Prematurity Day is Friday, November 17 and this year the stakes are greater than ever. For the second year in a row, the United States’ preterm birth rate increased — and racial, ethnic and geographic disparities within that rate got worse. Meanwhile, premature birth is the leading cause of death in children under 5 worldwide.
That’s why we all need to step up for moms and babies this week. The March of Dimes is working to save babies’ lives by preventing and reducing premature birth. We’re also making sure that families caring for premature babies get support and resources. But we can’t do any of this without you — show your support by making a donation in honor of World Prematurity Day.
We have a lot to accomplish together. Help us give every baby a fighting chance.
