Biographies
Monica MacIntyre
Childbirth Educator, Tobacco and Smoking Cessation Counselor
Monica MacIntyre is a childbirth educator trained and formerly certified through the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), American Red Cross (Healthy Pregnancy Healthy Baby) and other organizations. She has taught childbirth preparation classes to hundreds of new families in hospitals, doctors offices, service agencies and privately. Monica is a member of and trained by Doulas of North America (DONA). She was also trained and certified through the Academy of Certified Birth Educators and Labor Support Professionals. She has provided doula services to over 120 families in Volusia County, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Maryland. She has been teaching expectant families and providing labor support services since 1992. Monica was raised in the Halifax area. She and her native Daytonan husband Rod went to the University of Florida (Go Gators!). They lived in Virginia and Maryland during Rod's ten years in the Navy. They were happy to bring their four children back to Daytona in 2001 to be closer to their extended family. Monica enjoys her time volunteering at her children's schools, helping the breastfeeding families at La Leche League of Halifax meetings and supporting many other church and community activities.

Rosha Loach

Medical review and consultation on fetal infant mortality issues, creation of instruments for evaluating process outcomes. 
Rosha's experience includes coordinating large epidemiological research projects for the Department of Defense (DoD) through the DoD Birth and Infant Health Registry, collaborating with the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Anthrax Immunizations and Smallpox Vaccines and reproductive health outcomes, managing medical record reviews at the VA and military hospitals worldwide, and attending monthly Fetal Medical Reviews at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. She is published Frontiers in Fetal Medicine, is co-author of a DoD technical document on surveillance of birth defects among military beneficiaries, and is a co-author in an article under review with the New England Journal of Medicine. Rosha worked for a Federal Healthy Start program through the University of South Florida, Lawton and Rhea Chiles Center for Mothers and Babies, and has interned with Scripps Hospital, American Red Cross WIC program and a San Diego State University Foundation gestational diabetes study. She is a California native and an alumni of the University of California, with a degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience. She enjoys riding her bike on the beach with her husband, reading, volunteering, and spending time with her parrot Simon and dog Maggie.

Cher grew up in Rochester, New York and moved to Florida in 1993. She worked in the Criminal Justice system for 10 years. Shortly after receiving her Graduate degree in Public Administration, she began a career in child welfare. She loves being involved in the community and is a Volusia County Citizen’s Academy Graduate. She is a cheerleading coach for the Port Orange YMCA, a member of the Daytona Beach Young Professionals Group (YPG) and an Advocacy Chair for the American Cancer Society. Cher enjoys spending time with her family, health and fitness and all aspects of photography. |
